Good bath fun Posted: 27 August 2008
'Musical' is definitely a stretch...
but fun, they undoubtedly are.
As others have mentioned the squeaker is quite hard for little ones to manage but the rattles in the other two sprites are fine. The colours are attractive and they superseded my 6 month-old's other bath toys on the first outing. They stand up well to tugging and chewing... but if splashing is a problem beware - he's not stopped since he got these.
Held interest the longest Posted: 28 January 2008
Our little boy loved these, from his first moments of grasping through to shaking and rattling them, and now he has learnt a new game... how to take them off quicker than mummy can put them back on.
Held his interest longer than any of the other bath toys we have had for him.
Cute, but small and not very musical Posted: 27 December 2007
I ordered these because my baby is fascinated with the plug and chain so I thought she would like something else attached to the bottom of the bath. She does like them but I think they're overpriced at 9.99 as they're quite small, and while they do make a noise (rattle or squeek) I think the term 'musical' is overstating things! You can buy the Octopals set from Tomy for the same price and that provides a lot more bath fun for the money.
Bobbin' Fun Posted: 15 October 2007
Sprites, they are Musical, but to read the earlier review I have to chuckle. How musical would you want a Bath Toy? A Squeak and a Rattle is perfect for the little one in the bath; surely you wouldn't want it to take batteries??? :-)
My son is 6 months old, loves squeezing and pulling and certainly has no problem with the 'squeaker'. He sits in his Safety First Bath Seat and pulls the sprites or just tries to reach out to play.
I love 'em and so does my Son; In fact he likes all the Sassy stuff if I'm honest!
Buy some Sprites; Fun, Simple and splashtastic.
Not so musical Posted: 18 February 2007
When I first received these I thought that the line would be too short as our 10 month old does like a fairly deep bath, but no, in practice, the lines are long enough to allow them to be suckered to the bottom and then bob on the surface (although they do rather get lost amongst the bubbles)
However, I do question the whole promotion of the three sprites being 'musical'. The two smaller ones have a rattle when they're tapped and the fin of the larger one has a squeak when pinched (which a nine month old isn't able to do). They're not really musical, not like Tomy's musical dolphins which when you tap them do give out 8 distinctive notes. So the musical element was a disappointment although my daughter does like to bob them about.
