This was not a toy but a wonderful learning experience for my grandchildren. It kept their interest for weeks and they watched with absolute delight as they saw first hand the metamorphosis from caterpillar to beautiful butterfly. They will remember the process for the rest of their lives in a way that no book or lecture could achieve and they are only aged 2 and 4 years.

I agree with the majority of reviews written with regard to educational value. It is an excellent idea and when my daughter was bought this as a birthday present I was very impressed, so much so that I bought a couple of extra sets for friend's Christmas presents.

Unfortunately when I opened it up I discovered that there additional postage costs to receive our caterpillars - a bit cheeky for a [...] product!

I am still confident that the item is a good buy but the price of the item is misleading.

Bought this for my 4 year old and also as a gift for friends daughter who is 6 and they both loved it. What a relief to find something that is exciting but also educational, and lasts more than 5 minutes. A very worthwhile present.

I bought this for my Nephew and he has really enjoyed learning about the natural environment of the Butterfly and watching them develop from being Caterpillars. I would recommend this to anyone buying it for little ones who have a curiosity in the animals and plants around them.

What a fabulous thing this is!.I bought it for our 4.8 year old son but it ended up being something the whole family has loved.It was really simple to order the caterpillars online and the delivery of tem was so fast.We watched them get bigger, transferred them in their pupas to the butterfly house and a couple of days ago, all five of them emerged perfectly as butterflies.It has been a wonderful experience for all of us.We are going to release them tomorrow but we might order somemore caterpillars to do it again........:o)
