One of Character Options' Best Posted: 04 October 2008
This action figure of Tom Baker's incarnation of the Doctor in his first series outfit is excellent. I have mentioned above that this, in my view, rates as one of Character Options' best Doctor Who figures to date for many factors.
Firstly, he has an interchangeable head. This is not as gimmicky as it may seem as it allows you to alternate between a serious expression wearing no hat, and the more jovial (and indeed insane) grin characteristic of the fourth Doctor. Many other CO Doctor Who figures can look a little bored, such as their Peter Davison, David Tennant and Rose Tyler, however this one really is quite the opposite.
The scarf is also brilliant as it can be taken off easily and simply looks great. Like his jacket, the plastic on the scarf is flexible enough to bend around a bit and doesn't get in the way of serious play or figure photography.
His jacket cannot be removed like the scarf, but the detailing underneath is top rate. There is very little paint slop and is accurate to the costume on screen. The general sculpt is very fine and articulation is neat and useful. Of course he isn't as agile as the early Toybiz Marvel Legends figures but he the articulation is still perfectly adequate. The accessories are good, he comes with a tiny sonic screwdriver and the hip of the K1 robot build-a-figure.
All in all, this is how most figures should be done. It is very realistic, very playable, very attractive and for Amazon's current price of £6.99 this is a must buy for any Doctor Who, sci-fi or action figure fan of any age.
A DECENT FIGURE OF THE 4TH DOCTOR Posted: 19 August 2008
Tom Bakers fourth incarnation of the Time Lord is 'my Doctor' so to speak as i was a child to teen during 1975-81. The Fouth Doctor very much the boheamian traveller who charmed his way through his incarnation. What with the riding boots , Long scarf and velvet coat and hat. He was also the longest serving Doctor so far and will remain the definitive Doctor for many. This figure has fantastic detail and it actually looks like the 4th Doctor which is a surprise. All the arms and legs move but as it's moulded in hard plastic the clothes are part of the figure. I hope that all the previous Doctors will get modelled in not to long a time !.
