Bindeez Starter Pack - We Like It Posted: 04 January 2009
My 5 year old daughter and I have been really pleased with this toy. The pen and templates are easy for her to use, but the toy does give her a bit of a challenge, as she has to concentrate and be careful - which is what I wanted. Having seen a friend's Aqua Beads set - I prefer the Bindeez pen I think. I do find that they take a bit longer than 10 minutes to dry - but when they are finished, they are durable enough to handle. I am now planning to add more Bindeez sets to our collection.

I bought this for my 8 year old daughter with some concern because of previous reviews - no regrets. She loves it - agree that the pen can be fiddly but the house is covered with little animals and 3d pyramids. Even her 12 year old brother got in the act. We will be buying many more refill packs in the future. Recommend drenching the beads with water and taking care if designs have thin bits.
Makes a nice change Posted: 28 August 2007
My 5 yr old got this for her birthday, contains all you need to create some designs, although won't be long until a refill pack of beads will be required. We usually use Hama Beads so this was a nice change along the same theme. The "no heat, no mess" motto isn't as good as cracked up to be as the designs take longer than 10 mins to dry and even after being left overnight one of the designs was really gummy and not bonding, perhaps I used too much water? Not particularly durable, it wouldn't withstand being played with but nice to look at or stick up to admire. Agree with the other reviews that the pen is fiddly and the beads cannot be accurately positioned with it, especially with younger hands, doing it by hand is actually quicker and easier. Easy to follow instructions, not majorly over priced like alot of these crafty items and worth buying to try it out. Will be using again.
ok, not easy to use though! Posted: 16 June 2007
this is time consuming, as it takes ages to complete one design.
the "pen" was not the greatest design and not effecient at all to use. the designs were very appropriate for kids, they were fun to look at and they have a great range of differant designs available for both boys and girls, which makes a pleasant change. (i find a lot of things are advertised mainly for the female market.)
i enjoyed making them, so did my four year old daughter. it does take a while to complete. i would suggest ditching the "pen" and placing the beads in the design by hand. i would also suggest not spraying the design too much with water either, as it took ages to dry. also found the glue not as strong as it should be. the designs were very flexible, but definitely needed a stronger glue, to ensure the design stays together.
overall; good fun, imaginative, but time consuming.
bindeez are great Posted: 08 June 2007
Having tried aqua beads but unable to source them when they ran out my husband bought these instead. My two daughters aged 4 and 10 found them much easier to use with more child orientated templates. The tool was also better for my younger daughter to use. The beads stuck together quicker, 10 minutes instead of an hour for aquabeads. The result was also slightly bendable which meant that my four year old could handle her finished art project without danger of breaking it. It kept them entertained for ages and there aren't many toys/crafts will do that with 2 children 6 years apart in age. By the way I enjoyed it too!
