I bought this for my 5 year old daughter's birthday, that night I had to fight to get her to go to bed as she wanted to keep playing. The following morning the 1st thing she asked to do was go back on the computer to play more Barbie. This is an addictive and enthralling game for little girls. It has a nice intuitive interface and took her 5 minutes to work out how to play with it. I am a 40 year old man and I find it fun. The best childrens software I've ever bought.

One of no less than nine Barbie-branded CD-ROMs in the series, Beauty Boutique has perhaps the greatest longevity in terms of holding the interest of little girls, by virtue of being creative in nature rather than being principally a collection of themed puzzles, however wonderfully rendered. Production values are superbly high in the whole series.
There’s some outstanding animation, especially in the wardrobe area, with the chosen garments applied to the animated character.
To give your daughter extra satisfaction, the finale of each makeover is a mock ‘video’, showing before and after looks in each area, along with an animated cut-scene of the appropriate event, with the client fully made-over.
Playing around with different looks, clothes and accessories has been a never-ending source of fun for girls for centuries. The sheer number of different combinations in Barbie Beauty Boutique mean that this CD-Rom should last almost as long.
